Ivy is three weeks old today, and I've already breastfed her at two parks, several parking lots, the library, the high-risk OB office, and our naturopathic physician's office. She's an excellent nurser, and would like to be latched on ALL THE TIME, thankyouverymuch. I've started calling her The Booby Monster.

At her two-week check-up, Ivy was still an ounce and a half under her birth weight—and she had already caught her first cold. (All I can say is thank God for
Swedish snot-sucking innovation!) She had a weight check today, and I was worried that she wouldn't have gained much on account of being sick. Wrong. Ivy is up to 8 lbs., 9.5 oz. She gained 12 ounces
in seven days.

I also had a(nother) check-up. I saw Dr. K, who was
very glad I was able to have a home birth and a safe, timely hospital transfer for my retained placenta. My blood pressure is up to low-normal, which is a pretty good summation of how I feel in general. Not quite back to normal, but reasonably energetic given the circumstances. I'm still can't seem to carve out the time to write, though. I'm working on it, especially since I want to add an epilogue of sorts to Ivy's birth story, with the details of my hospital stay.
In the meantime, Ivy looks like a grown-up baby now. She's sporting chubby cheeks, and a bonus chin that wasn't there last week.

Congratulations times a million! Ivy is so beautiful, and I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well. And 12 ounces in 8 days? Awesome.
Cute little bean! 12 ounces in 7 days? GO Ivy! Booby Monster indeed.
So glad that you have a good little eater, that's the part I struggled with most early on. It's such a releif when they pack on the pounds! She's super cute too.
I'm glad you're both doing well. And honestly I cannot believe she's three weeks old already. Such a cute little gal.
So sweet! You look so happy in the last photo!
A couple of super pretty girls in these pictures, I tell you what. (I kind of said that in a Hank Hill voice in my head.)
